Aos que curtem um heavy mais clássico, eis a união de alguns nomes da cena, liderados pelo guitarrista Craig Goldy (ex-Dio, Giuffria). O grupo, cujo nome homenageia a Ronnie James Dio, conta ainda com Rudy Sarzo (baixo, ex-Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot), Simon Wright (bateria, ex-Dio, AC/DC), Wayne Findlay (teclados, ex-Michael Schenker) e o vocalista Diego Valdez nessa árdua missão de tributo ao mestre. FLAT EARTH

Os ex-membros do fenômeno finlandês HIM, Mikko "Linde" Lindström (guitarra) e Mika "Gas Lipstick" Karppinen (bateria) se juntaram ao baixista Niclas Etelävuori (ex-Amorphis) e ao vocalista Anttoni "Anthony" Pikkarainen (Polanski). A primeira música divulgada tem um clima a la His Infernal Majesty:

KONSORTIUM

O guitarrista/baixista Teloch (Mayhem, Gorgoroth, 1349) e o baterista Dirge Rep (Enslaved, Aura Noir, Orcustus) retornam após longo período desde o debut de 2011:

Mais uma vez o incrível e versátil vocalista Mats Levén (Treat, Abstrakt Algebra, Therion, Candlemass, Amaseffer, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) se junta a Anders Wikström (guitarra) e Thomas Broman (bateria) em mais um projeto que leva sua marca sempre de originalidade e potência:

Há alguns anos tratamos de supergrupos e projetos paralelos alternativos à vanguarda do metal moderno (exemplos aqui, aqui, aqui ou aqui), e 2018 promete não ser diferente em novos épicos neste âmbito:

HOWLING SYCAMORE

"Jason McMaster (WatchTower, Dangerous Toys), Davide Tiso (Ephel Duath) and Hannes Grossman (Necrophagist, Obscura) unite to create Howling Sycamore, an extreme metal project that traverses all aspects of progressive music. With guests Bruce Lamont (Yakuza, Corrections House) and Kevin Hufnagel (Gorguts, Dysrhythmia)" - maravilha absoluta da vanguarda alternativa do metal moderno:

LEGEND OF THE SEAGULLMEN

"Legend Of The Seagullmen is a genre destroying super-group crafting conceptual rock 'n' roll hymns of epic proportions. The band features TOOL's Danny Carey on drums, MASTODON's Brent Hinds on guitar, director Jimmy Hayward (Jonah Hex) on guitar, David 'The Doctor' Dreyer on vocals, ZAPPA MEETS ZAPPA's Peter Griffin on bass, and Chris DiGiovanni on synth.
