PLAY: Howling Sycamore, Legend Of The Seagullmen, Twilight, We Sell The Dead

Há alguns anos tratamos de supergrupos e projetos paralelos alternativos à vanguarda do metal moderno (exemplos aqui, aqui, aqui ou aqui), e 2018 promete não ser diferente em novos épicos neste âmbito:

HOWLING SYCAMORE

"Jason McMaster (WatchTower, Dangerous Toys), Davide Tiso (Ephel Duath) and Hannes Grossman (Necrophagist, Obscura) unite to create Howling Sycamore, an extreme metal project that traverses all aspects of progressive music. With guests Bruce Lamont (Yakuza, Corrections House) and Kevin Hufnagel (Gorguts, Dysrhythmia)" - maravilha absoluta da vanguarda alternativa do metal moderno:

LEGEND OF THE SEAGULLMEN

"Legend Of The Seagullmen is a genre destroying super-group crafting conceptual rock 'n' roll hymns of epic proportions. The band features TOOL's Danny Carey on drums, MASTODON's Brent Hinds on guitar, director Jimmy Hayward (Jonah Hex) on guitar, David 'The Doctor' Dreyer on vocals, ZAPPA MEETS ZAPPA's Peter Griffin on bass, and Chris DiGiovanni on synth. Together, they wreck havoc!" - Brent Hinds ataca novamente:

TWILIGHT

"Wrest (Leviathan), Blake Judd (Nachtmystium), N. Imperial (Krieg), joined by Sanford Parker (ex-Nachtmystium / Corrections House) and THURSTON MOORE (Sonic Youth)" - retorno do grupo, dando continuidade à participação de Thurston após o excelente "III, Beneath Trident's Tomb" (2014):

Twilight - "Trident Death Rattle" (EP) (2018)

WE SELL THE DEAD

"Niclas Engelin (IN FLAMES, ENGEL), Jonas Slättung (DRÖMRIKET), Gas Lipstick (former HIM drummer) and the voice of Apollo Papathanasio (SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, FIREWIND)" - hard nórdico, eclético e melódico, com alguns dos membros mais indicados para tal:

We Sell The Dead - "Heaven Doesn't Want You And Hell Is Full" (2018)

PLAY: Baroness, Corrections House, GIAA, Hollow Haze, Shining

MUTOID MAN

KILLER BE KILLED

Também não nos esquecemos (e destacamos aqui e aqui) do ótimo grupo capitaneado por Max Cavalera e membros do The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon e The Mars Volta. Novo vídeo:

Cavalera Conspiracy, Anaal Nathrakh, Nachtmystium, United Nations

Vamos falar sobre música extrema?

Para que alguns dos grandes lançamentos do ano não passem batidos:

CAVALERA CONSPIRACY - "Pandemonium" (2014)

ANAAL NATHRAKH - "Desideratum" (2014)

NACHTMYSTIUM - "The World We Left Behind" (2014)

E contando com o baterista do CONVERGE, o ótimo Ben Koller (All Pigs Must Die, Mutoid Man):
